Lasagne al Forno recipe

9 sheets cooked lasagne
450 ml (3/4 pt) Bolognese Sauce
600 ml (1 pt) Bechamel Sauce
10 g (1 tbsp) dried breadcrumbs
15 g (1 tbsp) Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper
method
1. Place 4 tbsp of the Bolognese sauce on the bottom of a 25 x 20 cm (10 x 8 in) dish.
2. Top with 3 tbsp of the Bechamel sauce and three strips of cooked lasagne. Season the pasta with salt and pepper.
3. Start the layers of sauce again as shown in the picture. Use another 3 tbsp Bolognese sauce and 3 tbsp Bechamel.
4. Top with another 3 strips of lasagne, a further 3 tbsp Bolognese sauce and 3 tbsp Bechamel.
5. Add remaining strips of lasagne, season and spread the meat sauce on’ top of the final topping of white sauce.
6. Spread the Bechamel over the surface and sprinkle it with grated Parmesan cheese or Parmesan cheese mixed with dried breadcrumbs to give a crunchy topping when cooked.
7. Bake the lasagne in a preheated oven 180°C (350°F) Gas 4 for 25 minutes until golden brown.
8. For a really crisp topping, put the dish under the grill for 3 minutes.
